I bought one of these machines early in Feb it replaced an old one which I had had for 10 years. I tried a number of their recipies but found that the bread does not rise evenly – the left hand side is considerably lower than the right and the dough does not rise well.
I returned the machine to Russell Hobbs following a conversation with their customer services, and today have had a bizarre conversation with their tech guy who tells me that the problems I experience are caused by the machine being in a draft – even though it is in exactly the same position as my previous one which made very good, evenly risen loaves. SO, IF YOU MIGHT HAVE A DRAFT IN YOUR KITCHEN DON’T BUY IT. I’m now trying to get my money back!

I sympathise. We have had to buy a replacement tin for our Breadman 12683. This has now failed too in less than 1 year. The first bread tin disintegrated at the bottom where the spindle comes through. The spindle failed on the 2nd tin so that it would fall out. Customer services operate in a very defensive way, where the customer is never right! I have been accused of abusing my tin!
